About All 4 Paws
All 4 Paws is an Essex based Training School operated by Trevor & Fiona Barrett, and our aim is to enable owners and dogs to live together in harmony! Trevor and Fiona are both qualified and experienced Dog Training Instructors and Behaviour Counsellors. All the classes are taught by either Fiona or Trevor.
Our main goal, which we are passionate about and make no excuses for, is to prevent any dog or owner having to go through the stress and heartache of re-homing, or worse, because they feel that they have no other option! It is a fact that the majority of pet dogs are re-homed simply because their owners feel they cannot cope with their dog’s “problem” behaviour, and don’t know where to turn for help. Take look at this poem, it says it all - Do I Go Home Today?
Laws and legislation are seemingly very heavily stacked against dogs and their owners these days, and we are here to help you prevent your dog being considered a “problem” to you, or the community at large. Train with us, and we can show you how you can have a dog that is a pleasure to own and one that you can take with you anywhere.
All4Paws can help you with all your dog training needs and we are listed for the Kennel Club Good Citizens Awards. We have fun classes for all levels using tried and tested kind reward based methods, especially aimed at the pet owner, including clicker training. We can help you train your dog to be a well rounded, well behaved pet in all situations, or ready to go on to another discipline such as agility.
For those dogs that may not be ready for class, or have specific behaviour issues, we also offer individual training tailored to you and your dog's specific requirements - please see the link above for Individual Training. You might think this would be very expensive, but we are sure you will find our rates very competitive, and bear in mind that you and your dog will be given undivided attention for the whole of the session.
Lastly at All 4 Paws, whatever training you decide to do with us, we want you to have fun and enjoy the it. Training a dog can be hard work and can also take a long time, so it important that we learn to enjoy the process and learn that it can be fun for both dog and owner.
Please have a look over the rest of our site, and if you have any questions at all do not hesitate to Contact Us.

Fiona - Instructor and Behaviour Counsellor
Hi I am Fiona and I have had a passion for dogs since as long as I can remember. I got my first dog a Yorkshire Terrier named Buttons when I was 11 and now some years later I am now the proud owner of our 3 Border Terriers and our Border Collie x Poodle. I think the reason that I enjoy this job so much, is that the process of learning to communicate with dogs never fails to fascinate me. Each dog is an individual and there is the constant exciting challenge of learning what makes then tick. My motivation to teach comes from wanting everyone else to enjoy training their dogs as much as I enjoy training mine. I have been instructing at classes since 2003, having taken an ABC Accredited Diploma as a Dog Trainer and Behaviour Counsellor. I also also have an NCFE certificate in counselling skills. I have had experience of working with many different breeds, and I have a special affinity with Terriers, or "Naughty Ters" as I like to call them! I am the instructor for most of the obedience courses. I am pictured here with Paddington and and my beautiful Border Collie Kodiak, who sadly left us 15th May 2008.
Trevor - Instructor and Behaviour Counsellor
Like Fiona I have also been a dog owner and training my own dogs for many years. I have taken an ABC Accredited diploma as a Dog Trainer and Behaviour Counsellor and I also have a NCFE certificate in counselling skills. I enjoy teaching pet obedience and I'm motivated to help pet dogs owners have a well behaved pet they can be proud of. I also love training and taking part in agility with my dog Honey, and I usually teach the agility classes. My picture is with Barney and Honey.
Winnie The Pooh
Hello I am Winnie the Pooh (known simply and Winnie) and I am the latest addition to the Barrett clan. I am 3/4 Border Collie and 1/4 Poodle and this photo was me at four months old. I am very naughty but so cute you can't help but love me.
My favourite pass times are barking, ripping up all that exciting stuff in those black plastic bags, keeping everyone's stuff safe in my crate (also known as Winnie's Ebay store) and chasing my best friend Knap around all those obstacles in the paddock.
When I am big I would like to have a go on those obstacles myself.
