Not all dogs may be ready for a class environment, they may not get on well in close proximity with other dogs, or they may be nervous of people. It may be that there is only one or two aspects of your dogs behaviour that you need some help with, and don't want to attend a full obedience course. Sometimes there are things that need a home visit to really be able to get to the root of the problem.
This is where individual training can help. Many people may think that individual private training is very expensive, however we are sure you will find our rates very reasonable. An initial session is one and a half hours and follow up sessions are usually held for one hour at a time, on a weekly basis. The number of sessions will vary with each case, and your trainer will discuss this with at the first session.
We can cover any aspect of training in an individual session, from dog to dog aggression, territorial aggression, separation anxiety, stopping playbiting or even basic obedience if you are unable to make one of our classes. We also offer a one hour puppy session, this is for new puppy owners (or older dog if you have acquired a rescue dog), and you will be free to ask any questions you wish about your new dog, such as advice on toilet training. If you wish to do this before you even get your puppy, even better!
Session one is more about finding out about you and your dog, learning about your objectives from the training and leaving you some exercises to work on, also an estimate of the number of sessions required will be given. From here, a personal plan will be put together for us to work through. Once training with us, we also offer a support service, so you can ring or email us inbetween sessions, should you be having any difficulties.
All individual sessions are confidential, and nothing discussed will be disclosed without your permission.
Individual sessions are charged per session. An intital assessment session of 1½ hours is £50 and follow up hourly sessions are £35. Occaisionally travelling expenses may have to be added to the fee depending on your location, this will be discussed with you before booking.
